Statement 2023

Daria Miazhevich works with her mind and applies a state called "wandering mind" during which a person is immersed in his thoughts and pays attention to the images he creates. This state fascinates the author because it allows for a moment of slowing down, where one can be aware, create, and reflect.

The primary focus of her work is the artist's experience of different events and changes in life, reflected in the refuge of inner consciousness. It is crucial for the artist to re-examine personal stories (such as motherhood, religion, and the future) and deconstruct them into new images and forms. Reality is reassembled in various ways: through physical means (working with recycled paper) and semantic ones (using graphic, sculptural, sound, and other metaphors).

Daria typically uses handcrafted paper, paintings, and graphics in her work, but sound-art and video-art are also some of her favorite tools.
